It is the banks that shape the course of the river.
I will never give up the bushes.
“This story shines brightly, although it comes out of the dark.” — Marcin Zegadło, Księgozbiry
Mówi się, że macierzyństwo przemienia. Michalczak pokazuje, że nie gasi ciemnego światła niepokoju i jasnego – tęsknoty. Można urodzić dziecko – i „porodzić gwiazdę tańczącą”. Choć niepewne nad nami niebo.
To najbardziej wiarygodne studium relacji międzyludzkich, jakie spotkałam w literaturze.
About
From the point of view of the bushes.
I am drawn to what others find slight or beside the point. That is why I write about important things from an angle that is not obvious: in poems, short stories, a novel and auto-non-fiction. I have published eight books, shortlisted among others for the Gdynia Literary Prize and the KOS Poetry Prize. I hold a PhD in sociology and belong to Unia Literacka, the Polish writers’ union.

A mosaic novel whose heroines are several women, entirely different from one another and alike in one thing: at some point each of them says enough, and flies towards the light. What happens when they meet? Will they meet at all, and what does it mean to meet, and what does it mean to escape?
